DONATIONS that produce results

Every year in the United States about 40 million children play youth sports, yet 70% of those kids drop-out and quit by the time they are 13 years old. Further, three out of four youths stop competing in all sports by high school.

This 70% are missing out on the development of defining character traits and life lessons: how to think on their feet, respect, integrity, honesty, responsibility, bravery, compassion, fairness, perseverance and sportsmanship.

These are lessons that CANNOT BE TAUGHT EFFECTIVELY IN THE CLASSROOM, especially in today’s moral climate.

The fact that cheating means you only cheated yourself. The value of hard work and being part of something bigger than oneself. The courage to stand up for what’s right.

Surprising? Not really. Untrained coaches, focus on WINNING (not continual IMPROVEMENT) and only catering to the top 2-3% of youth athletes. Their athletes never learn the value for camaraderie, valuing the learning process which “losing” is a part of. Many times these elite athletes focused too long on “material goals” (instead of “process goals”) burn-out in their early teens or later due physical AND mental over-use injuries.

OCG’s coaches are here to reverse that trend.

By bringing back the 3F's of youth sports in the 70s which led to the Golden Age in the 80s we can do our part to turn the tide.

Our kids aren't NFL free agents, they're kids.

If you're interested in changing youth wrestling in this country, please consider supporting our organization, thereby giving student-athletes the tools to succeed, teaching them how to learn from failure, seek challenges, it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them, that your attitude is your biggest strength, achieve a positive high performing mindset, creating goals and accepting ownership of the experiences you go though. But the single most fundamental thing we teach is how to have fun while being passionate about improving 1% 365 days a year.

As Donn Ernst said, “Technique beats Strength, Attitude beats EVERYTHING!”

And as Frederick Douglass said, "It's easier to build strong children, than repair broken adults."

Please consider referring our co-ed youth beginner, youth intermediate and adult programs to your friends (as well as our upcoming Robotics program) and/or donating to our cause as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, thank you.
